The most important event organized by the Center was the interregional seminar " Security Issues of New Russian Borders" was held in Volgograd (September 27-28, 2001) with support of the Academic Educational Forum on International Relations (Moscow, Russia). The seminar commenced the research project of the same name which soon will be resulted in the collective monograph.
On January 29-30, 2002 the conference "Russia and Orient: Problems of Interaction" was held organizing jointly with the Institute of Oriental Studies with support of the Russian branch of the "Open Society Institute" (George Soros Foundation)and Firedrich Naumann Stiftung.
